Aachen Police Bust Major Drug Trafficking Ring, Seize Millions in Drugs and Cash

Aachen Police have made significant progress in an investigation into suspected organized drug trafficking. Last month, they achieved a breakthrough, leading to the seizure of large quantities of drugs and cash, and the arrest of two suspects. A third remains at large.

The operation, conducted in collaboration with Dutch police and the Central and Contact Point Cybercrime North Rhine-Westphalia (ZAC NRW), resulted in the search of three residential buildings and a boxing studio in Heerlen, Netherlands. Officers found substantial amounts of MDMA, ecstasy, cocaine, a firearm, and cash totaling in the five-figure range.

Investigations began after authorities suspected the three men, aged 33, 39, and 40, of selling narcotics on the darknet and using post boxes in the German border region to send them. Two of the suspects were arrested on-site, while an international arrest warrant has been issued for the third, who remains at large. The seized drugs are estimated to have a total sales value of several million euros.

The responsible Aachen Criminal Police is continuing its investigation, evaluating data carriers and hardware to further substantiate the suspicion against the three men. One of the detainees has been handed over to German authorities, while the other remains in custody in the Netherlands pending extradition. The successful operation has dealt a significant blow to suspected organized drug trafficking in the region.
