Africa's Premier Online Platform for Electric Vehicles Debuts: EV24.africa
In a significant stride towards sustainable mobility, AUTO24.africa and Africar Group have introduced EV24.africa - a pan-African marketplace dedicated to electric vehicles (EVs). This platform aims to cater to the diverse needs and budgets of African consumers, offering a comprehensive range of over 200 EV models from more than 25 global brands.

Supporting EV Adoption in Africa
Across Africa, various countries are implementing policies and incentives to support the adoption of electric vehicles. These initiatives include import duty exemptions, tax incentives, infrastructure development, vehicle age and safety standards, and local manufacturing support.
For instance, Ethiopia has banned imports of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles starting 2024 to encourage all EV types, supported by a developing charging network. South Africa offers tax incentives and invests in EV infrastructure, targeting passenger vehicles, with plans for 120 solar-powered charging stations. Kenya imposes a 10% import duty with a national goal of 100% EV adoption by 2050, focusing on urban charging and EVs like buses and motorcycles.
Morocco provides government incentives and is expanding public charging infrastructure, aiming to produce up to 100,000 EVs by 2025, focused on passenger vehicles. Egypt's EV policy is still in development, but infrastructure is limited but growing, focusing on passenger vehicles. Rwanda implements a zero VAT and duty exemption policy for EVs, supports battery swap networks, and targets motorcycles and commercial EVs.
Other countries such as Uganda, Mozambique, Liberia, Mauritania, Namibia, and several others are also taking steps to encourage EV adoption, with each country's policies and incentives varying.
Navigating Country-Specific Regulations
EV24.africa offers customized support to adhere to each country's regulatory requirements. The platform provides clear and up-to-date information on customs duties, tax exemptions, and available incentives, ensuring a smooth transition for customers.
The platform also ensures competitive pricing for electric vehicle ownership and offers financing options to make EVs more affordable. With its wide range of electric vehicles, EV24.africa caters to various needs and budgets, providing an unparalleled selection in Africa.
