AI-driven billing platform Flexprice secures half a million dollars in funding to bolster open-source billing solutions for the burgeoning AI-focused economy
In a bid to address the challenges posed by the new billing requirements of AI and API-first models, Flexprice was founded in 2025. The open-source billing and metering platform aims to evolve AI monetisation models for both startups and large enterprises.
Flexprice offers a modular billing layer, allowing developers to launch and scale usage-based, hybrid, or custom pricing models. It supports multiple pricing models, including pay-as-you-go, credits, seats, or volume tiers.
The platform integrates directly with popular payment providers like Stripe, Adyen, and Razorpay, offering seamless transactions. Flexprice can function either as a metering layer or a complete billing engine, providing flexibility to businesses of all sizes.
The total addressable market (TAM) for modern AI billing infrastructure is estimated at $4 billion, growing at a 20% Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR). This growth is driven by the AI boom, with over two-thirds of SaaS companies launching or integrating GenAI features.
This shift in monetization strategies has increased infrastructure costs and altered customer value perception, making traditional billing tools inadequate for today's dynamic, metered AI and API-first business models.
Engineering teams often spend months building and maintaining complex infrastructure for metering, entitlement gating, usage aggregation, and billing logic, which creates costly bottlenecks and diverts resources from core product development.
Flexprice aims to solve this fundamental infrastructure gap. Manish Choudhary, CEO of Flexprice, states that the platform is built to ensure pricing, packaging, and billing are never a bottleneck. The platform offers developer-first APIs and SDKs for real-time usage tracking, event instrumentation, and quota gating.
The new funding will be used to expand Flexprice's engineering team, accelerate integrations with popular payment gateways, and deepen its open-source offerings. Ujwal Sutaria, General Partner at TDV Partners, believes that Flexprice is solving a crucial infrastructure gap in the monetization stack for AI and Agentic companies.
The funding round was led by TDV Partners, with participation from Brij Bhushan, Gunjan Patidar, Ram Singla, Pradyot Ghate (all from Zomato), Sandeep Gupta (Innovaccer), Akash Singh (Observe.AI), and Harshit Dwivedi (Aftershoot).
Flexprice also features real-time analytics dashboards and invoice visibility for both customers and internal teams. The platform's open-source, self-hostable architecture provides transparency and control, making it an attractive solution for businesses seeking flexibility and control over their billing and metering processes.
As AI continues to reshape the business landscape, Flexprice is poised to play a significant role in enabling businesses to adapt to the new billing requirements and monetise their AI offerings effectively.
