Air Cargo Inspections Automated in 2025 through AKL-tec's Innovation in Transport Logistic
At this year's Transport Logistic event in Munich, AKL-tec GmbH, a medium-sized company based in Rhineland-Palatinate with over 30 years of industry experience, is showcasing a new testing system designed specifically for air cargo logistics.
This advanced system is set to revolutionise the air cargo industry by addressing current requirements and promoting sustainability. AKL-tec places great emphasis on environmentally friendly practices, incorporating photovoltaics and electric mobility into the design of the system.
The system is equipped with cutting-edge technology, capable of automatically measuring the height, width, length, and volume of cargo, as well as checking the contour. This innovative feature ensures that objects fit perfectly into specific loading units, preventing transport damage and increasing safety during loading.
AKL-tec specialises in calibrated volume measurement systems and has been developing automated cargo measurement and document capture solutions since the 1990s. The new system is a technological reinterpretation of the Apache Contour, first introduced by AKL-tec over 20 years ago.
The system is designed to reduce processing times in the handling process, thereby improving efficiency. It also supports palletising, further enhancing the system's ability to streamline air cargo logistics.
In addition to the new air cargo testing system, AKL-tec is also presenting the CubiScan N9, first shown at this year's LogiMAT, and offering insights into established solutions such as the CubiScan S9 and the AI-supported analysis tool Predictive Vision for Logistics.
Visitors to the Transport Logistic 2025 fair will have the opportunity to witness a live demonstration of the new air cargo testing system, offering a first-hand look at the technological advancements that AKL-tec is bringing to the air cargo logistics industry.
