Gründungsstipendium NRW Extended and Offers Increased Funding for Innovative Startups

The Gründungsstipendium NRW, a grant aimed at supporting innovative startup founders in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), has been extended for an additional three years. This positive news was announced by Minister of Economic Affairs Mona Neubaur at the "Digital Demo Day" held in Meerbusch.

The grant targets founders with innovative business ideas, particularly in future-oriented technologies, innovative services, or business models. It provides a monthly grant of 1,200 euros for up to 12 months, with the possibility of extending the funding by three months in case of childbirth and suspending it for up to 12 months during parental leave with Elterngeld (parental allowance).

Recipients of the grant also receive individualized coaching during the grant period. Application requires consultation via an accredited startup network before participating in the jury session.

Upcoming jury sessions for the stipend in 2025 are scheduled for: - 12 September 2025 (location varies) - 5 September 2025 (IHK Mittlerer Niederrhein) - 9 December 2025 (grant decision)

Dates may vary by region and network, so applicants should check local accredited startup networks or the official portals for precise deadlines. Interested founders need to submit an idea paper and consult with startup advisors before the jury evaluation takes place.

The Gründungsstipendium NRW is managed by the startup centers NRW in Rhein-Kreis Neuss and Kreis Viersen, and the application process is managed by startup advisors Hildegard Fuhrmann and Mathias Brockmann.

Dr. Thomas Jablonski, the managing director of the economic development agency of Kreis Viersen, looks forward to more business ideas and innovative startups. Robert Abts, the managing director of the economic development agency of the Rhein-Kreis Neuss, considers the Gründungsstipendium NRW and accelerate_rkn as important pillars for the strengthening and further development of the startup ecosystem.
