Alpine brand appoints Philippe Krief as its new CEO
Philippe Krief, a seasoned professional with a diverse background in the automotive industry, has been appointed as the leader of the Alpine brand. The announcement was made by Luca de Meo, CEO of the Renault Group, at a press conference held in Boulogne-Billancourt in July 2020.
Krief's career progression is impressive, having worked for prestigious brands such as Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Michelin, and the Fiat Group. He returned to Ferrari in June 2016, becoming the Director of Engineering, and later served as the Technical Director of Alfa Romeo.
De Meo expressed confidence in Krief's abilities, stating that he trusts Krief and his team to take Alpine to new heights. Alpine, under Krief's leadership, is expected to enter a new phase of its development, with the launch of new vehicles scheduled to start next year.
Alpine is aiming to become a brand of the future, and with a clear and ambitious strategy set by Laurent, the brand is in the best position to achieve its long-term goals. Laurent, who has been leading Alpine for the past two years, was thanked by De Meo for his contributions.
Krief holds a degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Techniques Avancées and has not been listed as VP of Engineering and Product Performance at any company in February 2023, based on available information. However, on February 21, 2023, he was officially appointed to this position for the Alpine brand.
The appointment of Krief comes as Alpine prepares to embark on an exciting journey towards becoming a leading brand in the automotive industry. With his extensive experience and technical knowledge, coupled with his leadership qualities, Krief is poised to guide Alpine through this new phase of development and help the brand achieve its vision of becoming a brand of the future.
