Amazon has launched the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft, its first color e-reader with writing abilities. Priced at $629.99, it's the most expensive Kindle to date, even surpassing an iPad.

The Kindle Scribe Colorsoft boasts a 10.2-inch display with a resolution of 300 pixels per inch. It's 5.4 millimeters thick and features a precision-machined aluminum frame. It's designed for drawing and writing, with a new, more functional home screen.

Users can import and export files to the device using Microsoft OneDrive or Google Drive. A Kindle Workspace tool is available for PDFs, files, notes, and textbooks. However, the price development compared to other color e-readers like the Kobo Libra Colour is unclear.

The Kindle Scribe Colorsoft is Amazon's first color e-reader with writing abilities. Priced at $629.99, it's more expensive than other color e-readers with annotating abilities, such as the Kobo Libra Colour, which costs $229.99. It offers cloud integration and a functional home screen, but its price may deter some potential buyers.
