Amwoodo Raises $4M to Fight Single-Use Plastics with Bamboo Solutions

Amwoodo, a pioneering bamboo-based sustainable solutions startup, has raised $4 million in a pre-Series A funding round. The company aims to replace single-use plastics with convenient, eco-friendly bamboo products.

Amwoodo, founded by an entrepreneur whose name is not publicly available, has already established B2B partnerships with notable companies such as Himalaya Wellness Company, Bombay Shaving Company, and ITC Hotels. It has also expanded into the direct-to-consumer (D2C) space through its brand Ecoconscious.

Subhrakanti Das, Chief of Staff at Amwoodo, emphasizes the responsibility of businesses in driving sustainability alongside profit. The company plans to further strengthen community engagement and create livelihood opportunities in bamboo-growing regions. With the new funding led by Rainmatter and joined by Adventz Group, Thinkuvate, and Caspian, Amwoodo will scale production, enter the D2C market, and launch other plastic-alternative brands under the House of Amwoodo. Agni Mitra, Founder & CEO of Amwoodo, views this funding as a catalyst to make eco-conscious living mainstream.

Amwoodo's successful funding round will enable it to expand its mission of replacing single-use plastics with sustainable bamboo products. The company's commitment to community engagement and livelihood opportunities in bamboo-growing regions further solidifies its dedication to responsible business practices.
