Apple allegedly plans to revamp MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max chipsets this autumn.

Leading laptops, boasting advanced new processors, are scheduled to debut this autumn or the following spring, subject to supply chain conditions.

Apple allegedly plans to revamp MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max chipsets this autumn.

The latest news on the M2 processor has got everyone excited, and our recent MacBook Air review echoes this sentiment. Believe it or not, Apple's got even more powerful Apple silicon in the pipeline! According to Mark Gurman's Power On newsletter, which was initially leaked by 9to5Mac, Apple is planning to launch the M2 Pro and M2 Max-equipped MacBook Pros as early as this fall.

In April, Gurman hinted about the M2 Pro and M2 Max, mentioning that Apple was working on its next-generation M2 chips and testing them in at least nine different Mac models with four versions of the processor. At the time, it was predicted that these new MacBook Pro models would be released sometime between fall 2022 and spring 2023.

But Gurman's latest update suggests that these high-powered MacBook Pros equipped with the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips are coming earlier than expected. While the exact release date isn't confirmed, fall 2022 seems the most likely timeframe.

Interestingly, the design of the MacBook Pro with these new chips is expected to remain relatively the same as the 2021 refresh. However, the focus of the M2 chips, especially the M2 Pro and M2 Max, will primarily be on the graphics side. This strategy is similar to the regular M2 processor, which features two additional GPU cores compared to the M1, along with a faster neural engine. According to Apple, the M2 has an 18% faster CPU performance and 35% faster GPU speeds.

Gurman also suggests that the M2 Pro and M2 Max processors will offer impressive performance gains. While we wait for official benchmarks, it's safe to say that these MacBook Pro models will be a formidable competitor in the market.

As for the supply chain, Gurman mentions that Apple's internal expectation for the release of these new MacBook Pro models extends up to spring 2023 to accommodate any potential shortages. However, it's unclear when exactly these powerful MacBook Pros will hit store shelves.

In the meantime, the M1 MacBook Pros continue to be strong performers for everyday tasks and are still available to buy. But if you're in the market for a more powerful MacBook Pro, it might be worth waiting a bit longer to see what Apple has in store with the M2 Pro and M2 Max-equipped models.

The anticipation for the M2 Pro and M2 Max-powered MacBook Pros is growing, with some expecting an earlier launch than originally predicted. Apple is reportedly planning to supercharge its MacBook Pro lineup sooner than spring 2023. The tech world is buzzing with expectation, as the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips are expected to deliver significant performance gains. With Apple's focus on improving the graphics capabilities of these processors, these upcoming MacBook Pro models could become formidable competitors in the technology market.
