Apple Declares iPhone 11 Pro Max & Apple Watch Series 3 Vintage
Apple has declared the iPhone 11 Pro Max and Apple Watch Series 3 as vintage, marking the end of their official support and repair services. This classification comes as these devices' hardware and software capabilities have been surpassed by newer models like the iPhone 15 and Apple Watch.
The iPhone 11 Pro Max, released in 2019, and the Apple Watch Series 3, launched in 2017, will no longer receive major iOS or watchOS updates. This includes new functionalities and security improvements, reflecting Apple's typical product lifecycle of five to six years.
Consequently, these vintage devices will not be repaired at Apple Stores or authorized service centers. Despite this, the iPhone 11 Pro Max remains compatible with the latest iOS 26. Notably, the Apple Watch Series 3 was still available for purchase even during the watchOS 9 beta testing phase in 2022.
With the vintage classification, Apple signals the end of official support for the iPhone 11 Pro Max and Apple Watch Series 3. Users should consider upgrading to newer models like the iPhone 16 or the latest Apple Watch for continued software updates and repair services.
