Apple Unveils New Intelligence Features: Smarter Siri, Enhanced Photos, AI Language Tools
Apple has rolled out its new Intelligence features, making Siri more responsive and capable. The update brings AI-assisted language tools, improved notifications, and enhanced photo editing to iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
Apple Intelligence is now available to the public with the release of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1. It works on iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, compatible iPads, and Macs with M1 or newer processors.
Siri, the voice assistant, has seen significant improvements. It can now handle stammers, pauses, and typing for interaction. The assistant's responsiveness and capabilities have been enhanced with Apple Intelligence. Language tools offer AI-assisted proofreading, summarisation, and content rewriting. The email app has a new one-tap reply generation feature.
The Photos app has also been improved. It now offers natural-language search and object removal editing. System notifications can be grouped and summarised, and a new Focus mode filters important messages.
Apple Intelligence includes tools for improving writing, summarising notifications, and editing photos in its first phase. Some features are already available for beta testing.
Apple Intelligence brings a range of new features to iPhones, iPads, and Macs. The update improves Siri's capabilities, enhances the Photos app, and offers AI-assisted language tools. Initial language support is US English, with localised support in several English-speaking countries by December. The system is expected to expand its language support in the future.
