Apple's New iOS Update Brings One-Handed Control Center Access

Apple has introduced several features in its latest iOS update to make it easier for users to access the Control Center on large-screen iPhones with one hand.

The new Reachability feature allows users to pull down the entire top half of the screen by swiping up from the bottom, bringing the Control Center within easy reach. For those who prefer a tap-based method, the Back Tap feature enables users to open the Control Center by tapping the back of the iPhone twice or thrice, depending on their preference.

Creating a Shortcut bookmark offers another convenient way to access the Control Center. Users can set up a custom app on their home screen to serve as a shortcut, allowing them to tap on it to quickly access the Control Center. Additionally, the Action Button on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 series can be customized to trigger the Control Center, providing quick access to the feature in any app.

With these new features, Apple aims to make its large-screen iPhones more user-friendly, addressing the challenge of one-handed use. As phones continue to grow in size, with devices like the iPhone 17 Pro Max and Galaxy S25 Ultra pushing 7 inches, these improvements are welcomed by users seeking easier access to key functions.
