IBC 2025 Showcases First Complete IP Production and Broadcasting Chain with MPEG-H Audio

At this year's IBC2025, a groundbreaking demonstration will take place, showcasing the first complete IP production and broadcasting chain using MPEG-H Audio. The collaboration between Telos Alliance, Fraunhofer IIS, Jünger Audio, Linear Acoustic, BBright, and Ateme will present an end-to-end IP-based workflow integrating next-generation audio technology for broadcast and streaming environments.

The core of this demonstration is MPEG-H Audio, a comprehensive Next Generation Audio (NGA) system that allows for advanced personalization and immersive sound experiences. Fraunhofer IIS provides the MPEG-H Audio technology framework and supports the entire audio transport and personalization workflow.

Telos Alliance contributes immersive audio production tools such as Linear Acoustic AMS, which enables real-time authoring and monitoring of MPEG-H audio streams, providing multiple simultaneous personalized renderings.

Jünger Audio and Linear Acoustic are involved in delivering audio processing and production tools integrated into this IP chain. The Jünger Audio flexAI platform, in particular, supports the full potential of MPEG-H Audio, providing real-time loudness control and metadata handling.

BBright and Ateme likely provide video encoding/decoding and IP transport infrastructure to support the robust IP broadcasting chain, ensuring media synchronization and delivery.

This demonstration represents a major milestone in leveraging IP technologies combined with NGA standards to produce, manage, and broadcast immersive and personalized audio content over IP networks. It will showcase the interoperability of advanced IP-based production and distribution tools in the Jünger Audio flexAI platform and the Linear Acoustic AMS Authoring and Monitoring System.

Moreover, the demonstration will feature seamless S-ADM metadata carriage over SMPTE ST 2110-30 and 2110-41. The event is expected to provide insights into the potential of MPEG-H Audio technology in IP production and broadcasting.

Attendees can find the demonstration at stands 8.B80 and 8.D37. As a global leader in broadcast audio with over three decades of experience, Telos Alliance is at the forefront of this innovative development, pushing the boundaries of audio technology to enhance viewer experiences on any device.
