AVM Unveils Fritzbox 5690, New Repeaters & Fritzfon M3 for Enhanced Home Networking
AVM is set to release the Fritzbox 5690, two new repeaters, and the Fritzfon M3 in the coming days. The Fritzbox 5690, priced above its recommended retail price, offers double the throughput of the cheaper Fritzbox 5590 and supports active and passive fiber optic connections.
The Fritzbox 5690 boasts impressive features, including two 2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet ports, a 2.5 Gbit/s WAN port, USB 3.2 Gen 1, DECT telephony, and smart home support. It supports Wi-Fi 7, delivering up to 5760 Mbit/s in the 5 GHz band and 688 Mbit/s in the 2.4 GHz band. The device comes with two SFP modules for fiber optic connections.
Accompanying the Fritzbox 5690 are two new repeaters. The Fritz Repeater 2700 supports Wi-Fi 7, offering 5760 Mbit/s in the 5 GHz band and 688 Mbit/s in the 2.4 GHz band, with a 2.5 Gbit/s LAN port. It is priced at 149 euros. The Fritz Repeater 1610 Outdoor, IP54 certified, supports Wi-Fi 6 with speeds up to 2400 Mbit/s in the 5 GHz band and 600 Mbit/s in the 2.4 GHz band, priced at 129 euros. AVM also introduces the Fritzfon M3, a monochrome display phone similar to the C6, priced at 55 euros.
The new AVM products are expected to enhance home networking, with the Fritzbox 5690 offering improved throughput and fiber optic connection support. The repeaters provide extended Wi-Fi coverage, while the Fritzfon M3 offers a budget-friendly phone option. Prices for these devices are set accordingly, with the Fritzbox 5690 currently above its recommended retail price.
