Bambrew Raises $10.3M to Fight Plastic Waste with Sustainable Packaging

Bambrew, an Indian startup based in Delhi, has raised Rs 90 crore (approximately $10.3 million) in a fresh funding round. The company, founded in 2019 by Vaibhav Anant, specializes in developing and supplying planet-friendly packaging alternatives using materials like bamboo fiber, agro-waste, seaweed, and recycled paper. It currently serves over 500 brands across various sectors, including fast-moving consumer goods, e-commerce, personal care, and food and beverage.

The funding round was led by Ashok Goel and Japanese investment firm ENRISSION INDIA CAPITAL. ENRISSION INDIA CAPITAL's chief executive, Yusuke Kakimoto, commended Bambrew's commitment to material science and sustainability. Ashok Goel praised the startup's innovative approach, stating that their solutions are timely and globally relevant. Prior to this round, Bambrew had already raised Rs 60 crore from investors including Blume Ventures.

With the newly raised capital, Bambrew plans to accelerate product innovation, expand manufacturing capacity, and enter international markets. The startup expects to reach Rs 120 crore in revenue within the next year and aims for profitability. Additionally, Bambrew plans to launch a direct-to-consumer (D2C) line in the coming months, offering sustainable packaging solutions for household use. Kunal Prasad, the co-founder and chief operating officer of Bambrew, will lead these efforts, leveraging his strong background in management, logistics, and sustainability.

Bambrew's latest funding round reflects investors' confidence in the company's mission to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainability. With the new capital, Bambrew is well-positioned to drive innovation, expand its reach, and make a significant impact on the packaging industry both in India and globally. The startup's commitment to material science and sustainability, as recognized by Ashok Goel and ENRISSION INDIA CAPITAL, sets it apart in the market and bodes well for its future growth and success.
