Boeing Opens New Engineering Center at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Research Park

Boeing has expanded its footprint in the aerospace engineering industry with the opening of a new engineering center at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's (ERAU) Research Park in Daytona Beach, Florida. The center, which was officially unveiled on September 10, 2025, will serve as a hub for design, prototyping, and advanced research tied to Boeing Defense, Space & Security's Air Dominance portfolio.

The Daytona Beach center is strategically located on ERAU's Daytona Beach campus, providing Boeing with direct access to a ready pipeline of graduates from one of the nation's top aviation universities. This location also allows Boeing to work closely with faculty, students, and researchers at the university.

The center reinforces Boeing's ties with ERAU and underscores the increasingly important role Florida plays in aerospace development, known as the 'space triangle'. This region includes academic institutions, space launch facilities, and major industry partners, stretching from Cape Canaveral and the Space Coast through Daytona Beach.

The Daytona Beach center is expected to support approximately 400 new jobs, contributing to the ongoing economic activity in ERAU's Research Park. Since 2017, the park has already generated nearly 2,000 jobs and over $372 million.

Boeing's Daytona Beach center is part of its long-term planning and investment in defense programs focused on next-generation fighters and autonomous systems. The center aims to accelerate Boeing's defense technology programs and will play a crucial role in advancing the company's work on critical defense projects.

In addition to its commitment to aerospace innovation, Boeing has also demonstrated its support for the local community. The company has donated $100,000 to support STEM education programs through the Boys & Girls Club of Volusia and Flagler counties. Boeing has also provided food assistance for students via the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

The Daytona Beach center is housed inside the Cici & Hyatt Brown Center for Aerospace Technology, drawing on ERAU's long-established strengths in aviation and engineering. The center builds on a growing relationship between Boeing and ERAU and is expected to contribute to the ongoing collaboration between the two entities to drive aerospace innovation.
