In a nostalgic tribute to a cultural and technological phenomenon, LEGO has announced the release of a near 1:1 scale Game Boy model building kit. Scheduled for release on October 1, 2025, this engaging collectible will be available for preorder and priced at $59.99, £54.99, and €59.99.

The kit, comprising 421 pieces, is a testament to a classic era in gaming, boasting authentic details and much-loved features. The finished build will replicate the iconic Game Boy, complete with the + Control Pad, A and B Buttons, SELECT and START, and other iconic details such as the contrast adjustment and volume dial.

The kit also includes interchangeable, brick-built Game Paks for Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, adding a fun and interactive element to the build. However, it's important to note that the Game Boy build does not function as a playable device.

LEGO and Nintendo's collaboration extends beyond this iconic handheld, with another Nintendo-themed build in the works - a Mario Kart-themed set. This partnership underscores LEGO's commitment to celebrating beloved gaming icons and providing unique build experiences for fans.

The original Nintendo Game Boy, which sold over 120 million units globally since its debut in 1989, cemented Nintendo's reputation in video gaming. Its popularity was a launchpad for even greater successes, including the big-selling Switch handheld.

The LEGO Game Boy kit offers a chance for fans to relive the magic of the original Game Boy, providing an engaging build experience that celebrates the legacy of this iconic device. The kit can be purchased from Lego's online store and select retailers worldwide.
