BYD Boosts Brazilian Solar Energy with New Production Line
Chinese electric vehicle and battery manufacturer BYD has expanded its solar energy operations in Brazil. The company inaugurated a new production line in Campinas, Sao Paulo, in April 2023, equipped with advanced technology to handle all solar cell sizes.
BYD's Brazil-based factory, established in 2017 with an initial annual production capacity of 200 MW, has already produced over 2 million solar modules. This new line will further boost the factory's output and solidify BYD's position as a significant player in the Brazilian solar energy news market.
In December 2023, BYD will start producing n-type TOPCon solar modules at this new line, catering to the growing demand from Brazilian customers. These modules, equipped with upgraded technology, promise enhanced efficiency and reliability.
