BYD Seal U Electric SUV Coming to Europe in February 2024
BYD, a leading Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, is set to introduce the BYD Seal U electric SUV to the European market. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in February 2024.
The BYD Seal U offers two LFP battery versions: a 71.8 kWh battery with a range of 420 km and an 87 kWh battery with a range of 500 km, according to WLTP standards. It is powered by a 160 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, offering a top speed of 175 kph and acceleration from 0 to 100 kph in 9.3 seconds.
The SUV supports DC fast charging, offering 115 kW for the Comfort version and 140 kW for the Design version. A charge from 30 to 80 percent is estimated to take 27 minutes. The BYD Seal U is a five-seater with dimensions of 4,785 x 1,890 x 1,668 mm and a wheelbase of 2,765 mm, featuring a trunk volume of 552 liters, expandable to 1,440 liters with the rear seats folded down.
The BYD Seal U will be available in Comfort and Design equipment lines, with prices starting at €41,990 and €44,990 respectively. BYD offers a six-year or 150,000 km manufacturer's warranty and battery capacity guarantees for up to eight years or 200,000 km. This is the fifth model from BYD to be launched in Europe.
