Call2Recycle & Ascend Elements Team Up for EV Battery Recycling

Call2Recycle, a leading organization in battery recycling, has expanded its partnership with Ascend Elements to prepare for the upcoming wave of electric vehicle (EV) batteries. The collaboration aims to build infrastructure for transporting and recycling these batteries, ensuring a sustainable future for the industry.

The partnership combines Ascend Elements' recycling infrastructure and technology with Call2Recycle's collection, logistics, and tracking capabilities. Ascend Elements brings to the table a facility in Covington, Georgia, capable of processing 30,000 metric tons of battery material annually. Meanwhile, Call2Recycle offers its GreenTraxEV platform, featuring dispositioning oversight, carrier routing, freight scheduling, and battery tracking by identification number. This platform also enables semi-customized logistics networks through third-party carriers, although the specific carrier used for EV battery transport is not directly named.

The expanded partnership now provides a comprehensive EV battery recycling and tracking program for automotive dealerships, repair shops, and recyclers. This program is designed to handle the expected influx of EV batteries in the coming years, ensuring their proper disposal and recycling.

Call2Recycle and Ascend Elements' partnership is a significant step towards preparing for the future of EV battery recycling. By combining their expertise and resources, they aim to create a robust infrastructure that can manage the transportation and recycling of these batteries, promoting a sustainable and circular economy.
