CEDIA Expo to receive a comprehensive overview from the 8K Association

The 8K Association is set to showcase the latest advancements and integration strategies in 8K technology at the CEDIA Expo/Commercial Integrator Expo (CIX) 2025, taking place at the Denver Convention Center from September 4-6.

Hardware

Leading-edge 8K hardware advancements will be presented by executives from Epson, JVC, Kaleidescape, and Samsung. These sessions aim to educate integrators, brands, and content owners on the latest 8K hardware developments.

Content

Sessions focusing on scanned, transferred, and native 8K content will feature experts from IMAX, Savage Studios, and Warner Bros. Discovery. As the 8K content ecosystem matures, the availability of digital content and games is expected to rapidly grow.

Entertainment

The latest 8K games, documentaries, sports, and upscaled content will be discussed with representatives from AMD, The Explorers, 4BY4, and Spin Digital. The shift to more immersive and super realistic 8K technology offers tremendous potential for AV specialists and custom integrators.

Integration

Current and future 8K capture technology along with cable and device integration will be covered by executives from AudioQuest, AVPro, and BZBGEAR. The 8K standard is supported by HDMI Licensing, LLC, the Video Electronics Standard Association (VESA), the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB), and NHK, the national broadcaster of Japan.

The 8K Association will also provide expert-led panels on current and future 8K capture, cable, and device integration, as well as on 8K hardware and content.

Publishers and distributors are increasing the array of content they release, and commercial clients, including theatres, sports facilities, retail, and corporate entities, are deploying 8K to meet newly raised expectations. The 8K standard is established under the International Telecommunications Union's UHD-2 recommendation (ITU R-BT.2020-1) and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers' (SMPTE) ST 2036-1 standard.

Developments and trends in display technology have repeatedly underpinned seismic shifts in the performance and economics of both the residential and commercial integration markets. The roadmap presented emphasizes an industry-wide coordinated effort involving hardware manufacturers, content creators, and integrators to accelerate 8K technology deployment and ecosystem maturity. This comprehensive approach highlights both current capabilities and future directions for 8K adoption at the residential and commercial integration levels.
