Central Zone advances to the semifinals of the Duleep Trophy, following a drawn match against North East Zone.

The Duleep Trophy quarterfinal between Central Zone and North East Zone ended in a draw, but it was Central Zone that emerged victorious due to a massive first innings lead.

In the opening encounter, North East Zone elected to field first, giving Central Zone the opportunity to bat first. The Central Zone batsmen put up a formidable display, with Danish Malewar and Aaryan Juyal contributing a 139-run stand. Rajat Patidar, the vice-captain, was the star of the show, scoring 125 runs in 96 balls, including 21 fours and three sixes. Yash Rathod also played a crucial role, scoring 87 not out in 108 balls, with 11 fours.

The North East Zone batsmen struggled to keep up with Central Zone's total, with Karnajit Yumnam scoring 48 runs, the highest score for their side. Aditya Thakare led the bowling charts for Central Zone, taking 3 wickets. However, both teams agreed to a draw at 200/6, with Rongsen Jonathan scoring 60 runs in 97 balls, and Jehu Anderson contributing 64 runs in 96 balls for North East Zone.

In the second innings, Central Zone lost Aayush Pandey early, but Dhruv Jurel (captain & wicketkeeper), Danish Malewar, and the rest of the team held their ground, ensuring a draw and a place in the semifinals.

Central Zone will now face West Zone in the semifinal, which will commence from September 4 onwards. The Central Zone team for the semifinal will be represented by Dhruv Jurel (captain & wicketkeeper), Rajat Patidar (vice-captain, fitness permitting), Arjan Juyal, Danish Malewar, Yash Rathod, Harsh Dubey, Manav Suthar, Shubham Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Yadav, Aditya Thakare, Sanjeet Desai, Saransh Jain, and Aayush Pandey.

The Duleep Trophy semifinal promises to be an exciting encounter, with Central Zone aiming to continue their winning streak and secure a spot in the final.
