Chooose extends emissions data services in collaboration with IATA

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has taken a significant step towards enhancing transparency in aviation emissions with the integration of its CO2 Connect emissions data into the platform of software company Chooose. This partnership aims to provide airlines with improved access to emissions data, enabling them to manage their sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) programmes more effectively.

IATA CO2 Connect, the only carbon calculator for travel emissions based on airline operational data, is now available to over 30 global airline partners of Chooose. This means that airlines managing their SAF programs via the Chooose platform will be able to deliver IATA CO2 Connect’s trusted emissions data directly to their corporate and consumer customers.

The data, which is based on actual operational inputs from more than 70 airlines, complies with IATA RP 1726 and ISO 14083, ensuring accuracy and reliability. IATA CO2 Connect can factor in reductions associated with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), making it an invaluable tool for airlines seeking to reduce their carbon footprint.

The integration of IATA CO2 Connect data into the Chooose platform is timely, as research conducted by IATA in April 2025 indicated that 40% of travellers, particularly those in business, routinely monitor their flight-related carbon emissions. Incorporating CO2 Connect data helps airlines and their corporate partners address the growing demand for transparency in emissions reporting.

Joseph Beaudin, CEO of Chooose, stated that the addition of IATA CO2 Connect gives partners access to an IATA dataset that continuously improves. This partnership aligns with Chooose's participation in the IATA Strategic Partnerships Programme, which supports industry standards and decarbonisation initiatives.

The collaboration between Chooose and IATA is not the only recent development in the aviation industry. In June this year, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the IATA announced their collaboration on a comprehensive strategy to mitigate risks linked to global navigation satellite system (GNSS) interference.

This partnership between IATA and Chooose underscores the importance of transparency and innovation in the aviation industry. The Airport Technology Excellence Awards, which celebrate innovation, leadership, and impact in the aviation industry, serve as a testament to the strides being made in driving aviation industry advancements. By showcasing achievements, elevating industry profiles, and positioning among top leaders, these awards encourage continued progress towards a more sustainable and technologically advanced aviation sector.
