Construction of an underwater tunnel underway for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail project
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train, a groundbreaking project in Indian railways, is taking shape. The high-speed train will connect major cities along its route, including Thane, Vapi, Surat, Baroda, and Anand.
A significant development in the project is the construction of an undersea tunnel beneath the creek between Mumbai and Thane. Union Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, made this announcement, marking a milestone in the construction process. A breakthrough has been achieved in a critical 4.8km section of the undersea tunnel.
Approximately 320km of viaducts have been built for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train, indicating the project's progress. The responsible party for the execution and supervision of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed train tunnel project is the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL).
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train is expected to reduce travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to 2 hours and 7 minutes, offering a significant improvement over the current travel time. Initially, the train is expected to run every half hour during peak times, with service expanding to every 10 minutes during peak hours later.
A notable feature of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train is that passengers can simply arrive at the station, catch a train, and reach their destination without a pre-reserved ticket. The system of pre-reserving tickets for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train will be eliminated, making travel more convenient for passengers.
Bridges being built over rivers for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train are reaching completion at a rapid pace, furthering the project's progress. However, the minister did not provide specific details about when these changes will take effect.
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train is being constructed in India, marking a significant step forward in the country's high-speed rail network. The project is not related to any UAE-India travel, India's economic growth, global alliances, Carrefour, Asia Cup, excessive screen time, tiger attack story, or Sri Lanka's Dunith Wellalage.
