Fresh Take:

Hey there! Let's dive into the world of ZECH, a dynamic technology company that's been around for over a century. Based in Bremen, Germany, with multiple locations in Austria, ZECH has expanded its reach, boasting around 20 spots in the two countries. Their portfolio is diverse, and they're renowned for innovation and customer-focus. With a proud construction heritage spanning over 100 years, ZECH combines technical prowess, a broad service spectrum, and deep manufacturing depth to earn a stellar reputation, particularly in their core business of turnkey high-rise construction.

We caught up with Erwin Dittenhauser, the man heading the new branch in Augsburg - a city he holds close to his heart. So, what makes Augsburg a prime location for ZECH? Erwin explains that the city and its expansive economic influence, extending to Munich, Ingolstadt, and Baden-Württemberg, is a compelling draw for ZECH. His personal connection to the city also played a role in accepting the challenge.

Project-wise, ZECH Augsburg is busy with some exciting ventures. Their largest ongoing residential project, in collaboration with the ZECH SF Bau Munich, is the construction on Brahmsstraße in Haunstetten. Another project underway is the residential complex "Beamtenviertel" in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm. This construction project includes 7 multi-family houses, a total of 86 rental apartments, and garages. Due to the slope, the houses will feature varying numbers of floors.

In addition, ZECH Augsburg is constructing a storage and garage hall for the Lechwerke. The team has grown rapidly since settling in September 2023, starting with three employees and now numbering 26. There are more projects in the pipeline, with possibilities ranging from urban housing to hospital expansion projects.

Networking is crucial for complex projects like those managed by ZECH. Erwin confirmed that they have expanded their regional network with planning partners, architectural firms, engineering companies, and executing firms in the immediate vicinity.

ZECH's approach to construction is rooted in the concept of "Smart Construction," which Dittenhauser explains as the optimal fusion of competencies for each project. This approach leads to sustainable cost, time, and quality optimizations throughout the project lifecycle, making no project too big for ZECH.

Addressing the skilled labor shortage, Dittenhauler emphasized that "Building is human," and safety is a priority for the company. They participate in the Value Management Construction - EMB, attracting both seasoned professionals and young talent. Erwin mentioned their strong presence at the University of Applied Sciences for Engineering in Biberach as a stepping stone for securing the future.

We wish the ZECH team in Augsburg continued success with their ongoing construction progress and look forward to reporting on future projects. Stay tuned for updates!
