Daimler Truck incorporates eActros 600 models into the rent-a-truck (charterway) lineup.

The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600, a pioneering electric truck, has entered the market with a significant impact. The vehicle, boasting a battery capacity of over 600 kWh, is now available for rental at CharterWay and as part of their comprehensive "Truck-as-a-Service" model [1][3][4].

This powerful electric truck offers a range of approximately 500 kilometers without the need for intermediate charging under realistic conditions with a gross combination weight of 40 tons. With intermediate charging during statutory driver breaks, the eActros 600 can cover well over 1,000 kilometers per day [1][3][4].

The eActros 600 is equipped with a continuous output of 400 kW and a peak output of 600 kW from its two electric motors integrated into a new, highly efficient electric drive axle developed in-house [4]. This powertrain supports robust performance suitable for heavy-duty long-haul operations.

In terms of charging, the eActros 600 supports CCS charging at up to 400 kW and is designed to accommodate megawatt charging systems (MCS), facilitating rapid and flexible charging necessary to maintain long-distance operation without long downtime [4].

To cater to the growing European market for rental solutions in the truck industry, the eActros 600 is produced in multiple variants, including semitrailer tractors and rigid trucks, allowing a variety of all-electric transport applications [4]. Its durability matches conventional heavy-duty Actros trucks, with an expected operational lifespan covering around 1.2 million kilometers over ten years, making it suitable for commercial fleet and rental use [4].

Martin Kehnen, CEO of CharterWay, stated that the eActros 600 offers a sustainable and economical alternative for heavy goods transport [2]. Daimler Truck also stated that the market for rental solutions in Europe is growing strongly, with demand for integrated and flexible transport solutions also increasing [3].

The eActros 600, with its advanced battery technology, strong continuous and peak power outputs, versatile charging options, and a durable design, is a game-changer in the electrified long-haul trucking sector and the expanding rental market across Europe [1][4]. The first customers received their eActros 600 vehicles in December 2024, and the truck is now available for rental in Germany starting June 2025 [1][3].

The eActros 600, equipped with cutting-edge battery technology, leverages technology to deliver a range of around 500 kilometers without the need for intermediate charging, and with charging during breaks, it can cover over 1,000 kilometers per day. This electric truck is a pioneer in the electrified long-haul trucking sector, and its advanced features make it an ideal choice for the growing European rental market.
