Delivery statistics for Nio reveal that the ET5 Touring has outperformed the ES6 for two successive months.
Nio Unveils New ES8 SUV, Sets Delivery Timeline
In a significant move for the electric vehicle (EV) industry, Nio has announced the unveiling of its third-generation ES8 SUV. The event is scheduled for August 21, 2025, with the official launch and start of deliveries slated for Nio Day 2025 in late September.
The new ES8, built on Nio’s new NT3.0 platform, is set to make its debut in Chengdu, China. Pre-sales will begin concurrently with the unveiling. The official launch event at Nio Day 2025 will present the ES8’s full product and technology highlights. Deliveries are projected to start in early October 2025 following Nio Day.
The new ES8 boasts several significant updates. It features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with 707 hp, a 100-kWh battery with a range of 635 km (CLTC), and advanced LiDAR sensors for improved autonomous driving capabilities.
Meanwhile, the Nio main brand delivered 12,675 vehicles in July 2023, marking a 38.16% year-on-year decrease and a 13.14% decrease from June. Despite this decline, the ET5 Touring maintained its position as the highest delivering Nio model, with 4,418 units delivered in July. This marks the second consecutive month that the ET5 Touring has surpassed the ES6 in monthly deliveries. The ES6 delivered 3,359 units in July, making it the second-highest Nio brand model in terms of monthly deliveries.
The ES8's predecessor, which saw its third consecutive month of sequential decline in July 2023, delivered 1,090 units in July 2023, marking a new high since January 2024. The standard ET5 sedan delivered 1,480 units in July 2023, making it the third-highest delivering Nio model.
Other notable deliveries include the EC6 coupe SUV, which delivered 1,425 units in July 2023, and the ET9, which delivered 85 units, a decrease of 72.31% from June. The ES7 did not make any deliveries in July, the same as in June.
In other news, Firefly, a new EV brand under Nio, will begin deliveries in Norway and the Netherlands on August 14. The Onvo L90, which was officially launched on July 31 and began deliveries on August 1, saw its delivery wait time double to 8-10 weeks.
