Developers of Battlefield 6 insist that the small maps in the beta serve a purpose, aiming to deliver the high-intensity Battlefield experience accurately. Rest assured, they emphasize, expansive maps are also a part of the game as well.

Developer of Battlefield 6 clarifies that the smaller map sizes in the beta were deliberately chosen to ensure an intense, full-throttle Battlefield experience, and assures players that spacious maps are also included in the game.

Battlefield 6, the highly anticipated first-person shooter, is set to launch on October 10 for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. During the open beta, players got a taste of the game with three maps: Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak, and Iberian Offensive. However, the full game will feature a much more expansive experience, with larger maps that were not included in the beta.

According to leaks and datamines, at least two significantly larger maps—Mirak Valley and Eastwood—will be part of the full game and post-launch content [1][2][3][4].

Mirak Valley, a map more than half a kilometer in size, features a riverbed running through two massive mountain ranges, making it roughly four times larger than the small beta map Siege of Cairo [1][3][4][5]. Eastwood, a post-launch map likely coming in Season 1, is set in a Californian country club environment, including a golf course and new vehicles like a golf cart and a boat. It is estimated to be about four times the size of the beta maps as well [1][2][3][4].

David Sirland, Battlefield lead producer, stated that the smaller maps in the beta were by design to showcase the game's ability to handle high speed [6]. The larger maps will offer a more varied scale and gameplay environments, addressing player concerns regarding map compactness and offering more vehicle and tactical variety [1][4].

In total, Battlefield 6 is expected to launch with nine maps, with the beta showcasing fewer than half, mainly smaller maps. The full game will also launch with five all-new maps in addition to the ones mentioned [7].

While the beta maps were smaller and more contained, Battlefield 6’s full launch and post-launch content will provide a much more expansive experience. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the launch date.
