Chatting with the Legend: A Candid Convo with Mickey Mouse

Discussing Points with Iconic Disney Character Mickey Mouse in an Exclusive Interview by io9

Got a quick chat with none other than Mickey himself! The guy every kid adores, and who social media goes gaga over. You know, the big cheese at Disney (over 90 years in business and counting).

At D23, we sat down for a heart-to-heart, discussing all the juicy deets you'd want to know about. Sure, not hard-hitting politcs or disappointingly restrictive Disney+ terms and conditions. Instead, we talked all things Star Wars, Disneyland, and cosplay!

Our Interview in Sneak Peek Bits

Me: Hey Mickey, how's it going?

Mickey: Doing just swell! How about you, buddy?

Me: Super. Let's dive into some questions.

Mickey: Sounds good!

Me: You've been a part of the Disney fam since the very beginning, working with good ol' Walt. What's a memory that stands out for you?

Mickey: Steamboat Willy, Plane Crazy, Fantasia... there are so many fantastic memories of working with Walt! The creation of Disneyland, the films... Walt was a visionary, and I'm just glad to have been a part of his dream.

Me: Speaking of dreams, Disney's expanded its family with Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, and more! What's it like to have so many new worlds to play in?

Mickey: It's fantastic! More chances to tell stories... that's what Walt loved!

Me: Star Wars fan right here. Any favorite Star Wars movie or story?

Mickey: It's tough to choose, as there are so many great ones. I really enjoy The Mandalorian series. But the classics like A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi still hold a special place.

Me: Good call. What about a favorite Star Wars character?

Mickey: I think Han Solo's pretty great!

Me: That's my guy! What about cosplay? Have you dressed up as any characters other than yourself?

Mickey: I did dress up as Luke Skywalker once. That was pretty fun!

Me: Ever wanted to dress up as someone else but haven't yet?

Mickey: I think I'd love to dress up as the Mandalorian.

Me: But then you can't show your face!

Mickey: Awww, you're just being nice!

Me: Nope, promise! Disneyland or Disney World: which do you prefer?

Mickey: It's difficult to choose, as both parks are unique. But since we're here in California and it's Walt's original park, I'd have to go with Disneyland.

Me: Well, I'll be heading to Disney World in a couple weeks. See ya there, buddy!

Mickey: I'll be there too! I'm doing the same itinerary.

Me: You switch between the two when you can, right?

Mickey: Yep, when I can.

Me: Lastly, any thoughts on the new voice actor, Bret Iwan?

Mickey: He's a cool pal of mine. We have a great working relationship so far.

Me: Wonderful to meet you, Mickey.

Mickey: It's an absolute pleasure to meet you too. Enjoy the rest of D23, the ultimate fan event!

Me: I will! Thanks for the chat, buddy.
