Dream unveils rendering of its first electric vehicle model, discloses certain specifications
Dreame Technology, a Chinese tech company known for its home appliances, is making a bold move into the luxury electric vehicle (EV) market. The company has announced its plans to operate under two new automotive brands: Dreame Auto and Star Auto.
Star Auto, one of Dreame's new brands, asserts that its products will surpass Li Auto's L-series Extended-Range Electric Vehicles (EREVs). The brand primarily targets the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley segments, aiming to offer luxury vehicles inspired by these iconic models.
Star Auto has four configurations planned for its vehicles, with the flagship model, named D9, coming in Standard, Pro, Max, and Ultra versions. Prices for the D9 range between RMB 269,900 and RMB 589,900, equivalent to approximately $38,000 to $82,000 USD.
Meanwhile, Dreame Auto will focus on the ultra-luxury segment, competing with brands like Bugatti. The brand will develop both Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and EREV options, with its models set to rival those of the French luxury automaker.
Dreame has already closed its first funding round for its EV business and is considering Brandenburg, near Tesla's Gigafactory in Germany, as the location for its new factory. This strategic decision places Dreame in close proximity to one of the world's leading EV manufacturers, perhaps signalling a collaborative approach to the industry.
As Dreame Technology steps into the world of luxury EVs, it joins a growing number of tech companies venturing into the automotive industry. With its ambitious plans and strategic positioning, Dreame is poised to make a significant impact in the ultra-luxury market.
