EcoVacs' Latest Premium Robot Vacuum Introduces Unique Mopping Technique
Introducing the Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni, the latest addition to their robotic mopvac lineup. This bad boy boasts an impressive 18,000Pa of vacuum suction and 4,000Pa of mopping pressure, all housed within its self-cleaning, self-emptying, and self-drying docking station. Available at Ecovacs and Amazon for $1,169 ($130 off its original price), this robovac is Ecovacs' most capable yet.
Unboxing
Upon opening the box, you'll notice the X8 Pro Omni's hefty build. Squarely designed, the docking station houses two large capacity water tanks on top, while the "linen" panels offer a touch of style. Hidden behind a front panel, you'll find the self-emptying dust bag and cleaning solution reservoir. The X8 Pro Omni uses hot water at various temperatures to wash and disinfect rooms, and hot air drying to prevent mildew on the mop.

The robovac itself is surprisingly robust, relying on 3D sensors and AI-powered cameras for navigation. Due to its roller mop, it's taller than other robovacs, so it won't slide under low furniture. Both the roller mop and side brush are extendable, allowing the bot to reach into corners and square off its cleaning path.
First Impressions

With mixed feelings, I powered up the X8 Pro Omni for the first time. It took longer to map my home than other models, but it did so accurately. The app's labeling and division functions made this process simple.
Noise-wise, it's at the higher end of the bots I've tested, but the results speak for themselves. Like eufy's roller mop botvac, the high-pressure, quickly rotating roller makes for an incredibly efficient clean. The X8 also avoids tangles, losing only a few hairs stuck around the front roller ball – a common overlooked issue only addressed by Roborock vacs.

To Buy or Bin?
As one of the least expensive flagship robovacs on the market, the Deebot X8 Pro Omni is an impressive offering. With its innovative roller mop, powerful suction, and self-cleaning features, it's an impressive launch from Ecovacs. However, at over $1,000, it's a high-end investment for those committed to the latest technology. You can learn more about the Deebot X8 Pro Omni on the Ecovacs site.

The Deebot X8 Pro Omni's docking station features two extendable water tanks, located on top of the self-cleaning, self-emptying, and self-drying station. The mopvac's roller mop and side brush are also extendable, allowing the bot to fully clean corners and square off its path. The unique serial number for my Deebot X8 Pro Omni is 678f36931a645e16d8009b4f75918866, and I've especially noticed its efficiency in cleaning compared to other robovacs.
