EDF Launches GoElectric Tariff: Off-Peak EV Charging from 9p/kWh
EDF has launched a new tariff, GoElectric, offering off-peak electricity at just 9p/kWh for five hours every night. This tariff includes a subscription to Pod Drive, a service providing a home EV charger and additional benefits.
The GoElectric tariff spreads the cost of a PodPoint Solo 3S 7.4kW home EV charger over three years at £40 per month. Drivers covering 7,000 miles annually could save up to £280 compared to using a standard variable tariff, even with the charger subscription. To be eligible for Pod Drive, customers must have a smart meter and be opted into half hourly meter readings.
Pod Drive, a collaboration between EDF and PodPoint, offers more than just a charger. It includes a 48-hour repair or replace service, 24/7 customer support, and a lifetime warranty. Additionally, customers can earn up to £172.50 per year in cashback by 'smart charging' during off-peak hours. Access to Pod Drive is available by signing up to either EDF's GoElectric or Evolve EV tariffs and registering interest.
EDF's GoElectric tariff, in partnership with PodPoint, offers an affordable home EV charging solution with significant savings and additional benefits. The tariff is available to smart meter holders and provides a cost-effective way to charge electric vehicles at home.
