Elon Musk Launches Grokipedia to Rival Wikipedia
Elon Musk has launched Grokipedia, a new online encyclopedia project aiming to rival Wikipedia. The billionaire entrepreneur, who has previously clashed with Wikipedia, described Grokipedia as a significant improvement over the existing resource.
Grokipedia is based on Grok, a chatbot developed by xAI and trained on open internet data, including public tweets. Musk, who also operates the Grok chatbot, believes this will enable Grokipedia to provide more accurate and up-to-date information than Wikipedia. Grokipedia will analyze and rewrite Wikipedia pages to correct falsehoods, add context, and determine the truthfulness of information.
Musk's history with Wikipedia includes protesting over an article about him and calling for funding to be stopped. He has now set out to create a new encyclopedia that he believes will fix the 'major flaws' of Wikipedia.
Grokipedia, powered by the Grok chatbot, aims to provide a more accurate and truthful online encyclopedia experience. Elon Musk, who has had previous conflicts with Wikipedia, sees this as a significant improvement over the existing resource and a way to address its flaws.
