Emergency drones to scour for amateur participants
Unauthorized Sunbathing and Swimming? Get Ready for the EMERCOM to Fly to You.
If you fancy lounging under the sun and taking a dip in unapproved locations, be prepared for a visit from the EMERCOM. This was revealed by the department's press secretary Yevgeny Baranovsky, as reported by "Minsk News".
To ensure safety, lifeguards will monitor both authorized and unauthorized swimming spots throughout the summer, according to the assistant head of the EMERCOM. So, even the hidden gems tucked away from public view won't provide the anonymity you seek.
"We'll be using unmanned aerial vehicles, which have proven to be extremely effective, along with EMERCOM aviation," Baranovsky clarified. Typically, aviation is employed to scout areas for potential fires risks, but during the sweltering season, the flight paths will veer towards unauthorized recreation spots where individuals may find themselves in dangerous situations.
The collected data will be relayed to local emergency response teams and OSSVOD representatives, who will subsequently conduct preventive measures.
Where Can You Swim Legally?
Belarus boasts a total of 495 authorized swimming locales. The EMERCOM has made it effortless for vacationers to locate such spots by creating an interactive beach map, available on their website and social media platforms.
But navigating the legal swimming landscape in Belarus isn't always straightforward, as there isn't a nationwide list of authorized spots like those found in some European countries. Here's a brief guide to help you out:
- Municipal and City Beaches - Many urban areas, especially those near rivers or lakes, boast municipal beaches that are supervised and offer safety facilities during the summer. For example, beaches at Zaslavl Reservoir and Lake Lukoml are popular choices.
- Resort and Recreational Zones - Certain resorts and holiday camps, such as those near Naroch Lake (one of the largest lakes in Belarus), offer authorized swimming areas.
- Parks and Recreation Areas - Some parks in cities, like Minsk or along the Dnieper and Pripyat Rivers, have designated swimming zones.
Safety and Legal Precautions
- Swim Only in Designated Areas - To steer clear of fines and ensure safety, always stick to marked and supervised zones.
- Obey Local Regulations - Authorities might close beaches due to water quality or safety concerns. Make sure to check for posted notices.
- Look for Lifeguards - If you see lifeguards, that's a strong indication the area is officially approved for swimming.
- In the realm of cybersecurity, unauthorized access to servers or databases, as found in unapproved locations, can lead to severe consequences similar to those encountered during unapproved sunbathing and swimming.
- To ensure the protection of data and cloud computing, organizations should employ advanced technology, such as unmanned aerial vehicles and sophisticated software, to monitor their systems around the clock.
- Just as the EMERCOM enforces general news, crime, and justice regulations, cybersecurity governance scrutinizes digital activities for any breaches or unlawful actions within the realm of technology.
