Apple has introduced a new feature called Adaptive Battery Saving Mode with the release of iOS 26. This feature is available exclusively on the iPhone 17 series, including the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and 17 Air.

The Adaptive Battery Saving Mode is designed to optimize battery usage based on the user's habits and the device's needs. It complements the existing Power Saving Mode, offering more intelligent battery management.

Adaptive Power, the technology behind this feature, runs automatically in the background. It relies on the iPhone's AI to predict when additional battery life is needed. After about seven days of background processing, Adaptive Power fully understands the user's usage habits.

Performance is not managed while using functions that require maximum performance, such as the camera or games. However, when the Adaptive Battery Saving Mode is enabled, display brightness is reduced by 3%, and background activity is limited.

Low Power Mode is enabled automatically when the battery reaches 20% with the Adaptive Battery Saving Mode enabled. This ensures that the phone lasts as long as possible when the battery is running low.

Users can enable or disable the Adaptive Battery Saving Mode via settings in the battery section. The feature is powered by Apple Intelligence.

The Power Saving Mode, a previous addition to the battery management options on the iPhone, has helped many users when their battery was low. With the introduction of the Adaptive Battery Saving Mode, Apple continues to prioritize battery life and efficiency on its devices.

iOS 26, the software update that introduces the Adaptive Battery Saving Mode, is now available for all users. The adaptive power saving mode is enabled by default on iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and 17 Air. For iPhone 15 Pro models and newer, the feature is available but not enabled by default on older devices.

In summary, the Adaptive Battery Saving Mode is a new addition to the battery management options on the iPhone, designed to optimize battery usage based on the user's habits and the device's needs. It's a feature that complements the existing Power Saving Mode, but it offers more intelligent battery management.
