Enhanced Machine Learning Capabilities Now Available in Continuum's Visual Effects Toolkit, Courtesy of Boris FX
Boris FX has announced the release of Continuum 2025, a comprehensive plugin collection designed to streamline workflows and improve the precision of visual effects. This latest version offers a range of new features, including two machine-learning-driven effects: BCC+ Motion Blur ML and BCC+ License Plate ML.
BCC+ Motion Blur ML allows users to generate crisp, sleek motion blurs from a source clip or UV map using machine learning. By leveraging ML algorithms, it provides a more accurate application of motion blur than traditional methods, enhancing the ability to create realistic motion effects.
On the other hand, BCC+ License Plate ML enables the hiding, masking, and tracking of multiple license plates. Utilising machine learning, it can identify and protect license plate information in videos, offering a more efficient and automated way to manage sensitive data in footage.
Continuum 2025 also includes 200+ curated presets across many effect categories for quick customization. In addition, it offers six new, internally developed, ethically trained ML-driven effects.
The plugin collection is available with monthly/annual subscriptions, upgrade & support plans, and permanent licenses. Host application support includes Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Foundry Nuke, Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve and Fusion, and VEGAS Pro. Notably, Continuum 2025 now fully supports the Fusion page in DaVinci Resolve, integrating its visual effects tools into Resolve's node-based workflow.
Continuum 2025 includes several enhancements, such as an updated custom FX Editor for boosted performance and enhanced workflows, featuring a new image caching system for faster playback of filtered results. Furthermore, it offers downloadable tools, overviews, and tutorial videos for users.
Continuum customers on active subscriptions or upgrade & support plans will receive the 2025 product release as a complimentary update. The release price for Continuum 2025 is subscription pricing starting at $195/year.
In summary, Boris FX Continuum 2025 is a significant update, introducing powerful new features that aim to make the creation of complex visual effects more accessible and efficient. With its focus on machine learning, this plugin collection is set to revolutionise the post-production industry by offering a more accurate and automated approach to visual effects creation.
