Deutsche Telekom has recently taken strides to enhance mobile network coverage in the Warendorf district, located in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The company's efforts aim to meet the increasing demand for bandwidth, which has been growing by around 30% per year.
The mobile network expansion includes the establishment of new sites in Beckum, Telgte, and Warendorf, with Telekom currently operating 119 mobile sites in the district, with plans to add 15 more over the next three years. Seven existing sites have been expanded with LTE, and the company plans to expand 46 mobile sites with LTE or 5G in the district.
Modernization of existing mobile antennae has taken place in Ahlen (2), Drensteinfurt (2), Oelde, and Sendenhorst (2). In the past four weeks, three new antenna sites have been taken into operation in the Warendorf district.
The mobile sites in the district support the emergency call technology Advanced Mobile Location (AML) and the warning system Cell Broadcast. Emergency calls and warnings are now possible at all sites in the Warendorf district. When calling 112, the caller's location is automatically transmitted to the emergency control center, thanks to AML.
Cell Broadcast sends danger messages to mobile phones in the affected radio cell, for example, in case of large fires, gas explosions, or floods. This feature is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of the district's residents.
Deutsche Funkturm builds the mobile sites for Telekom, and landlords who lease areas for new sites receive a long-term, locally appropriate rent. Interested parties can offer a site for a rooftop or mast location by contacting Deutsche Funkturm at www.dfmg.de/standortangebot.

It is worth noting that Deutsche Telekom has been a significant player in the telecommunications industry in North Rhine-Westphalia and Germany at large, and the company's ongoing upgrades and expansions are consistent with the broader development in the region. While there is no explicit information about Deutsche Telekom’s specific mobile network expansion plan in Warendorf District, it is reasonable to infer that ongoing upgrades and expansions, potentially focusing on 5G rollout and digital infrastructure improvements, are occurring.
For detailed current and future plans, contacting Deutsche Telekom directly or consulting local government/regional telecommunications planning documents would be necessary. The site in Telgte also serves the coverage along the North Rhine-Westphalia East railway line.
Telekom has been recognised as having the best mobile network in Germany, as confirmed by specialist magazines Chip, connect, ComputerBild, and Imtest. These accolades underscore Deutsche Telekom's commitment to providing high-quality mobile network services to its customers.
The mobile network expansion in the Warendorf district involves the addition of LTE or 5G to 46 mobile sites, demonstrating Deutsche Telekom's commitment to advance technology in their network. Moreover, the new sites in Beckum, Telgte, and Warendorf support advanced safety features like Advanced Mobile Location (AML) and Cell Broadcast, enhancing the district's emergency response technology.
