EVeez Secures $5.4M to Expand Electric Scooter Subscriptions for India's Gig Workers
EVeez, an electric mobility-as-a-service platform, has secured $5.4 million in a Series A funding round. The funding, led by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation with participation from other investors, will support the growth of EVeez's electric two-wheeler subscription service in India's gig economy.
EVeez provides electric scooters to delivery workers, couriers, and other gig laborers on a subscription basis. The subscription plans include the vehicle, insurance, repairs, battery swaps, and basic EV training. This model is emerging as a bridge for low-income workers to access electric mobility opportunities. The funding comes as India's urban delivery landscape rapidly electrifies, with gig workers increasingly turning to electric two-wheelers.
EVeez currently operates 7,000 vehicles across 15 Indian cities. With the new funding, EVeez expects to enable over 40,000 new gig workers to join the workforce by fiscal year 2027. The company aims to expand to 30 cities and 50,000 vehicles by this time. More than half of EVeez's current users are first-time gig workers, with the rest transitioning from internal combustion engine vehicles.
EVeez's Series A funding will support the growth of its electric two-wheeler subscription service in India's gig economy. The company aims to expand its reach to more cities and gig workers, providing them with sustainable and affordable mobility options. As India's urban delivery landscape continues to electrify, EVeez is well-positioned to play a significant role in this transition.
