The Tesla Model Y, the American electric vehicle manufacturer's bestselling offering globally, is set to expand its lineup with the introduction of the Model Y Long-Wheelbase (Model Y L). This new variant, designed with an extended wheelbase and a six-seat configuration, is set to be released in China this autumn.
## Key Specifications
The Model Y L will measure 4,976 mm (195.9 inches) in length, 1,920 mm (75.6 inches) in width, and 1,668 mm (65.7 inches) in height. With a wheelbase of 3,040 mm (119.7 inches), the Model Y L will boast a spacious interior, capable of accommodating six passengers, including a third row.
Powering the Model Y L will be all-wheel drive with motors delivering a total of 340 kW. The front axle motor will produce 142 kW, while the rear-axle motor will develop 198 kW, resulting in a combined output of 456 bhp. The battery for the Model Y L will be supplied by LG Energy Solution, although the exact battery size remains uncertain.
## Release Date and Pricing
In China, the Model Y L is expected to be released later this year. The price is estimated to be around 300,000 yuan, which is approximately 36,000 euros. However, there is no specific information available yet regarding the release of the Model Y L in countries other than China.
