Experiencing the AI-powered Ray-Ban Display glasses: An intimate exploration of these cutting-edge eyewear
The tech giant Meta Platforms Inc. has officially unveiled its latest innovation, the Meta Ray-Ban Display smart glasses, at Meta Connect 2025. These cutting-edge glasses, priced at $799, will be available for purchase starting September 30 from Ray-Ban and various other retailers such as Best Buy, LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut, and Verizon stores.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display smart glasses boast a sleek and uniform design, despite being thick due to the advanced display technology. Weighing just 69g, they felt comfortable on the face during a one-hour demo. The glasses come in two stylish colours: Shiny Black and Shiny Sand.
One of the standout features of the Meta Ray-Ban Display is the monocular, invisible-to-others display. This display transcribes whatever it's hearing from the 6-mic array, but only for whoever you're looking at. This feature ensures a private and immersive experience for the user.
The glasses also come equipped with a viewfinder for photos and an option to zoom in with a quick twist. The Snapdragon AR1 chip powers several on-glasses functions, including 3K photos and videos, video calling, and Meta AI commands.
The display on the Meta Ray-Ban Display is fully readable and automatically adjusts its brightness and tone for indoor and outdoor use. However, it's important to note that the resolution of the display is closer to reality than idealized, with a higher pixel density only in one postage-stamp spot in your vision.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses only support a prescription range of -4 to +4. They also feature sEMG gestures that allow for different finger taps and swipes, even with the hand behind the back.
It's worth mentioning that the Meta Ray-Ban Display is not recommended for use while driving due to its smaller display compared to other smart glasses. Meta will not sell Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses with a left-eye display.
Interested individuals are encouraged to book a demo to try the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses. An intriguing feature of the Meta Neural Band software allows for sending messages written on the thigh, adding a touch of convenience to your daily life.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display smart glasses mark a significant step forward in wearable technology, blending style and functionality in a way that promises to redefine the way we interact with the digital world.
