Five independent video game studios from Hamburg showcasing their creations at Gamescom 2023
Indie Game Studios from Hamburg to Showcase Games at Gamescom 2023
Gamescom 2023, the renowned trade fair for computer and video games, is set to take place in Cologne from August 23-27, and this year, six indie game studios from Hamburg will be participating.
As part of the "Road to Gamescom" program, these studios will present their games at a joint booth in the Indie Arena Booth. The participating studios include Crumbling Games, Symmetry Break Studio, and five other indie studios from the city.
Crumbling Games is set to release a VR game named "Crumbling" later this year. In this game, players control an action figure and fight against plastic toy monsters. On the other hand, Symmetry Break Studio is debuting "Light of Atlantis". In this game, players control the element of water to solve puzzles in an underwater world.
Symmetry Break Studio has already been awarded the German Computer Game Award for the best prototype 2023. Another game by a participating studio, "Turbo Shell", features a main character that is an egg and uses a special push-pull technique for control.
Gamecity Hamburg, the organization supporting these studios, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The organization is bringing these studios to Cologne as part of the "Road to Gamescom" program. In addition, Gamecity Hamburg is supporting six indie studios at the Gamescom event in 2023.
