GM Unveils Global Corvette Design Project in UK
General Motors (GM) is generating buzz with a worldwide design project for the Corvette. The automaker has established a new UK studio, headed by seasoned designer Julian Thomson, and has developed an advanced design study Chevrolet Corvette concept car.
GM's UK team, under Thomson's direction, has crafted a concept that blends classic Corvette design with futuristic elements. The upper half of the car pays tribute to the iconic sports car's legacy, while the lower half focuses on technical innovation, including EV battery integration and aerodynamic efficiency.
A standout feature of the concept is 'Apex Vision', a design element inspired by the 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray's 'split window'. This distinctive touch adds a modern twist to the classic design. The newly opened GM design studio in England, led by design director Stuart Popham, has played a significant role in bringing this concept to life.
