Google Pay collaboration deepens with Zip US as Autofill feature on Chrome gets integrated

Digital financial services company Zip is taking a significant step forward in its mission to make flexible payments more accessible during shopping. The company has announced the expansion of its partnership with Google Pay, integrating Zip's buy now, pay later (BNPL) payment options into Chrome's autofill feature.

This integration offers a seamless and user-friendly experience for US shoppers. By selecting Zip's payment option directly within the autofill menu, shoppers can split their purchases into equal installments without switching apps or re-entering payment details. This feature significantly reduces friction during the checkout process, making flexible payments more accessible and convenient.

The integration with Chrome's autofill feature also enhances trust and minimizes cart abandonment during the final step of the buying journey. Shoppers can now make financially balanced purchasing decisions with increased payment flexibility at critical decision points.

Joe Heck, US CEO at Zip, stated that the company is focused on making flexible payments accessible during shopping. He said, "We are excited to partner with Google Pay to bring our BNPL service to more consumers. Our integration with Chrome's autofill feature aims to remove steps from the checkout process, making it faster, safer, and more empowering for US shoppers."

The integration is also expected to provide a wider reach for Zip. By embedding Zip into a widely used browser tool (Chrome autofill) and Google Pay wallet, Zip gains higher visibility among the 58% of US adults who primarily use Chrome.

Overall, this integration makes Zip’s BNPL service function as seamlessly as traditional payment methods, turning pay-over-time financing into a native, user-friendly option that meets modern consumers' expectations for speed, convenience, and security. The integration with Chrome's autofill feature is a step towards improving the efficiency of payment options for consumers, offering a smoother and more convenient checkout experience.
