Greenland's Tusass Teams Up with Eutelsat for OneWeb's LEO Connectivity
Tusass, Greenland's national telecommunications provider, has indeed teamed up with Eutelsat in a strategic, long-term agreement. The partnership aims to bring OneWeb's low Earth orbit (LEO) connectivity to Greenland, tackling the country's complex connectivity challenges.
Eutelsat's OneWeb satellites, orbiting in a polar pattern, ensure robust coverage in high-latitude regions. This results in low latency, high-speed connectivity, even in Arctic conditions. Toke Binzer, Tusass' CEO, praised the partnership, stating it directly addresses Greenland's unique connectivity hurdles.
The agreement sees Tusass utilise Eutelsat's OneWeb network for diverse connectivity needs. This includes community broadband access, ensuring remote regions stay connected, and mission-critical infrastructure, enhancing reliability and resilience.
The partnership between Tusass and Eutelsat is set to transform Greenland's connectivity landscape. By harnessing OneWeb's LEO capabilities, the country gains secure, robust communications across its vast, remote territories. Cyril Dujardin, President of Eutelsat's Connectivity Business Unit, hailed the collaboration as a testament to LEO's growing relevance in remote regions.
