Ather Energy Unveils Next-Generation Electric Scooters and New EL Platform at Community Day
Ather Energy, a leading Indian electric vehicle manufacturer, is set to host its third Community Day with the theme 'Technology that works like magic'. This year's event will feature the launch of the new Ather 450S, an upgrade to the Ather Stack 7.0 software, and the unveiling of the new EL scooter platform.
The new 450S, priced at ₹1,45,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), is designed for riders who seek the sporty appeal of the 450 platform with longer riding distances. The scooter's battery remains housed in the floorboard for optimal weight distribution and handling, offering a greater range of 161 km on a single charge under Indian Driving Conditions. The new model retains the same performance DNA as the original 450S.
Ather Energy has integrated Amazon Alexa as their voice assistant in their electric scooters, including in the Ather 450S 3.7 kWh model. The company's proprietary software ecosystem, AtherStack Pro, includes Alexa integration along with other smart features such as turn-by-turn navigation and over-the-air updates. Ather scooters support connectivity with Google Maps for fast charger locations and route planning, but this is separate from voice assistant integration.
Ather is expected to present updates for the Ather 450 series, including a potential cruise control update. The brand is also hosting interactive zones for direct engagement with Ather's design, engineering, and software teams. In addition, Ather will reveal concept models at the event.
The new EL scooter platform will serve as the foundation for the company's forthcoming range of budget-friendly electric scooters. Ather Energy is set to present its new EL scooter platform at the Community Day, which is now open to non-Ather owners.
The latest 450S fills the space between the entry-level 2.9 kWh model and the high-end 450X, which continues as the flagship with advanced software capabilities. The event will provide an excellent opportunity for electric vehicle enthusiasts to explore the latest offerings from Ather Energy.
