Hongqi Unveils EH7, Its First Luxury Electric Sedan
Hongqi, a Chinese luxury car brand, has unveiled its first independent model, the EH7. This mid-size all-electric sedan is set to compete with the likes of BYD Han EV and Rising Auto F7, with a starting price of RMB 229,800 ($31,920).
The Hongqi EH7, introduced at the Paris Motor Show in October 2024, offers impressive performance. Its rear-drive version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds, while the dual-motor four-wheel-drive versions can achieve this in as little as 3.5 seconds. This range-topping model is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, ensuring a smart and responsive cockpit.
The EH7 comes in five variants, including three single-motor rear-drive and two dual-motor four-wheel-drive options. It boasts three battery pack choices, with capacities of 75 kWh, 85 kWh, and 111 kWh. Measuring 4,980 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width, 1,490 mm in height, and with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm, the EH7 offers ample space. Its fast-charging capability is equally impressive, with a maximum charging power of up to 365 kW, charging from 10 to 80% in just 20 minutes.
The Hongqi EH7, launched after Hongqi New Energy's independence in January 2023, brings competitive performance and innovative features to the luxury electric sedan market. With its impressive acceleration, spacious interior, and rapid charging, the EH7 is poised to make a significant impact.
