Incredible First Lego Set Inspired by The Legend of Zelda
Let's Dish About Legendary Partnership: Lego and Nintendo's Zelda Masterpiece
Ever since time immemorial, zelda fanatics have been craving for a union between Nintendo's gaming excellence and Lego's block-building magic in a single adventure. The dream has been elusive, with failed attempts galore through Lego Ideas' crowd-voted set series to official collaborations on Mario and Animal Crossing sets. However, the long-sought dream of The Legend of Zelda seems to be within our grasp at last. Today, Lego and Nintendo broke the news - the birth of the Lego Legend of Zelda set, merging two iconic entries in the timeless saga: The Great Deku Tree.
The Great Deku Tree, comprising an astounding 2,500 pieces, is no mere set. It offers a duo of builds, enabling you to construct the mighty tree in two distinct forms: one mirroring its appearance in Ocarina of Time, and the other embodying its aged and overgrown visage in Breath of the Wild. Build the Ocarina version, and you'll discover intricate interior features echoing the dungeon within the tree in that game, as well as a miniature replica of Young Link's humble abode nestled amid the Kokiri. Meanwhile, the Breath of the Wild version flaunts dynamic features that bring the Deku Tree to life, complete with moving parts and hidden Koroks akin to the variety of forest creatures Link encounters in the game, alongside the Master Sword's pedestal.
Each iteration of the Deku Tree boasts unique builds and play features tailored to the version you construct. The Ocarina edition offers interior details inspired by the tree dungeon in that game, together with a quaint mini-version of Young Link's home. In contrast, the Breath of the Wild edition showcases the Deku Tree in conversation, with hidden Koroks reminiscent of the numerous forest denizens in the game, as well as the Master Sword pedestal.
Aside from a few buildable beasts such as Skulltula and Koroks, the Great Deku Tree set includes four minifigures: two each from Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild. These comprise Young Link and Adult Link armed with the Deku Shield and Sword, and the Hylian Shield and Master Sword, respectively, followed by Zelda and Link sporting their blue champion tunics from Breath of the Wild, wielding a Shiekah Slate and the Traveler's Sword and Shield.
