India, Brazil Strengthen Agricultural Ties: Chouhan's Visit Yields Joint Ventures, Partnerships

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan recently concluded a successful visit to Brazil, fostering collaborations and exploring joint ventures in agriculture and agri-tech. The trip, which ended on April 21, 2025, saw Chouhan engage with key stakeholders and launch significant initiatives.

Chouhan's visit kicked off with his participation in the 15th BRICS Agriculture Ministers' Meeting in Brasilia. Here, he led the Indian delegation and played a pivotal role in the launch of the 'BRICS Land Restoration Partnership'.

Later, Chouhan met with 27 members of Brazil's agribusiness community in Sao Paulo. The discussions focused on potential joint ventures in biofuels, food processing, and sustainable agriculture. During his stay, Chouhan also visited soybean production plants and agri-tech institutions, aiming to collaborate on soybean processing and technology transfer with India.

Chouhan held bilateral meetings with Brazilian ministers, aiming to deepen cooperation in agriculture and agri-tech innovation. He also participated in a tree plantation drive at the Indian Embassy in Brasilia under the initiative 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam'.

Chouhan's visit to Brazil has opened avenues for enhanced cooperation in the agricultural sector. The knowledge and experiences gained during his visit are expected to support India's development journey, particularly in boosting soya production and exports. The launch of the 'BRICS Land Restoration Partnership' and the exploration of joint ventures in biofuels and food processing further underscore the potential of these collaborations.
