India's New 'e-Arrival Card' to Streamline Immigration from October 1
Thailand is set to introduce a digital arrival card, known as the 'e-Arrival Card', from October 1, 2025. This move aims to simplify the immigration process and reduce delays at airports. The system, currently in beta testing, is not yet mandatory but will eventually replace the paper disembarkation form. It joins similar digital initiatives adopted by several other countries.
The digital arrival card requires travelers to input personal details such as full name, nationality, passport number, purpose of visit, and contact information within five days of arriving in Thailand. This data will be integrated into Thailand's electronic visa platform (e-Visa) once the system is officially launched. The final design and required fields may differ from the current beta version. The Thai government has launched a dedicated portal for the digital arrival card at thaiembassy.com/earrival.
The introduction of the e-Arrival Card is part of Thailand's efforts to streamline its immigration process. By adopting a digital system, the country aims to reduce delays and enhance the overall travel experience for foreign visitors. The digital arrival card is expected to be a significant improvement over the current paper form.
