'It's Us' Loses Top Spot in Netflix's Top 10 to a New Film
Initially, I thought the movie would maintain its top spot for a while longer, but it seems I was mistaken. #1 spot on Netflix's Top 10 movie list has now been taken over by "Carry-On" after a few days. The fall of "It Ends with Us" has paved the way for this Netflix original action thriller.
"Carry-On" boasts an impressive ensemble cast, featuring Taron Egerton from "Kingsman" and Jason Bateman, forever etched in my mind as Michael Bluth from "Arrested Development." Also joining the cast is former Disney star Sofia Carson. The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who has an eclectic portfolio, with films like "The Shallows" (starring Blake Lively, who recently dethroned this movie's lead), as well as "Orphan," "House of Wax," "Jungle Cruise," and "Black Adam."
So, what's "Carry-On" all about?
"A young TSA agent gets entangled in a web of blackmail, forced to allow a dangerous package onto a Christmas Eve flight."
Despite its seemingly absurd premise, the movie is earning positive reviews, with a critical score of 86%. This is quite impressive for a Netflix original film, especially given its debut straight at #1, indicating strong audience interest.
Interestingly, as we draw closer to Christmas, the number of Christmas movies at the top of the list seems to dwindle. While Netflix may not have the most extensive selection of Christmas movies, the genre is popular for a reason. Its catalogue often includes Hallmark-style productions about women in small towns encountering handsome strangers. Even Linda Lohan has lent her talent to a few of these productions, and they have always proven successful, with this year's entry, "Our Little Secret," once holding the #1 spot.
With the convincing reviews and stellar cast, I find myself eager to watch "Carry-On" tonight with my family. Here's hoping the reviews are accurate and we're in for a good two hours. I'll be sure to share my thoughts once we've finished watching.

After its success, "Carry-On" remains in Netflix's Top 10, challenging other films for the top spot. With its intrigue and star-studded cast, it's no surprise that "Carry-On" continues to captivate viewers on Netflix's top 10 list.
